The Strait Regional Centre for Education invites applications from qualified candidates for the posted vacancy. These positions are for the 2026-2027 school year, supporting the following schools: Dalbrae Academy, SAREC, St. Andrews Consolidated School, and Dr. John Hugh Gillis Regional High School.
As part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, the Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) was established on April 1, 2018, to deliver the public school program focusing on supporting student learning, achievement, well-being and overall success.

Job Responsibilities:
- Cooking, baking and preparation of food;
- Keeping daily accounts and inventory control;
- Kitchen duties as required in coordination with the cafeteria team (stocking shelves, cleaning, dishes, etc.);
- Support of the school recycling program;
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Previous experience in a cafeteria, food-service, hospitality, or customer-service environment;
- Current certification in CPR & First Aid or willing to obtain;
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
- Must be organized, neat/tidy and have clean work habits;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere;
- Enjoy working with students;
- Current Food Handling Certificate (desirable).
