Job Purpose: As a Project Manager at Ardmac, you will be responsible for leading and delivering projects successfully, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will provide technical expertise, manage teams, and implement Ardmac processes while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. The successful candidate will be based in Manchester and have some travel throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution: Manage projects from inception to completion. Develop and implement detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with client expectations. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to meet project specifications. Monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to meet project deadlines.
- Budget & Cost Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality. Track expenses and oversee financial reporting to maintain budgetary control.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary project team. Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress and resolve issues.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Identify and mitigate project risks proactively. Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Pre Construction: Supporting the bid process, reviewing CPs & ERs. Providing technical expertise within your discipline. Managing the PCSA period. Reviewing sub-contractor and supplier quotes.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Maintain strong relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery of services.
- Quality & Safety Assurance: Implement quality control procedures to meet specified standards. Conduct site inspections to ensure safety compliance and project adherence. Review and approve project EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Management Plans.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential: Minimum of 7 years’ experience in project management within the construction industry. HNC/D qualification in Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering. Strong technical knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Architectural services. Proven track record in delivering high-value projects (>£5M). Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience with project management software and construction methodologies. Understanding of NEC contract management. SMSTS certification and CSCS Card. IT proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and MS Project.
- Desirable: Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. NEBOSH/IOSH Managing Safely certification. Experience in pharmaceutical or cleanroom projects. Familiarity with validation processes (DQ, OQ, IQ, PQ).
