About the Role
ASC are seeking a generalist Licensing Manager to join our growing team and play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, reach and impact of the ASC label. The ASC label is a globally recognised trademark that assures consumers seafood has been sourced responsibly. Protecting and managing its trademark use is critical to maintaining stakeholder trust and credibility.
As Licensing Manager, you will:
- Act as ASC’s first point of contact for licence holders, internal teams and external agents/stakeholders
- Lead the delivery of ASC’s Feed licensing programme and support development of new licensing approaches as ASC continues to grow
- Strengthen licensing processes, including policy development, governance and data management
- Ensure compliant and consistent use of the ASC trademark globally
This is a highly collaborative role, working across teams including Brand, Marketing, Assurance, Standards, Finance, and Market Development, as well as with various external partners, agents and licensing stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Managing licensing agreements and reviewing trademark use
- Providing guidance on licensing policies, compliance, and processes
- Improving and developing licensing frameworks and documentation
- Working with external partners to ensure accurate reporting and data oversight
- Supporting monitoring of unauthorised trademark use
- Building strong relationships across a global, remote organisation

- is experienced in licensing management, compliance and/or governance related roles
- enjoys getting ‘into the details’ adopting a ‘hands-on’ approach to legal, policy, data and process management
- is a confident communicator/influencer with exceptional client engagement focus (consumer/commercial mindset)
- can take financial information and link this to compliant credit control and income data
- can effectively prioritise and manage conflicting expectations well, with a positive, proactive outlook
- has a dynamic working style, able to evolve and support change in an international environment
Bonus if you have:
- Experience in certification, sustainability, and/or the food/seafood sector
- understands the role licensing (trademark and brand protection) plays in third-party sustainability labels
- Managed international/global licensed trademark labels linked to well-known brands
- Additional language skills in addition to fluent English
Pay range and compensation package
Salary: circa 40,500 - 45,500 based on credentials
