About the Role: We are seeking a Staff Product Designer to join our growing team and play a key role in shaping the future of AlphaSense’s product experience. This is a Staff-level individual contributor role, where you’ll lead through design craft, systems thinking, and a deep understanding of our customers’ workflows. In this role, you will drive strategic design initiatives—translating complex, data-rich problems into intuitive, high-quality experiences that feel tailored to how our customers actually work.
Who You Are:
- 10+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in interaction design, systems thinking, and delivering high-quality, user-centered experiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Deep expertise in designing end-to-end customer workflows, with a proven ability to simplify complex, data-rich problems into intuitive, habit-forming product experiences.
- Highly proficient in design and prototyping tools, with the ability to communicate ideas through flows, systems, and high-fidelity prototypes.
- Strong collaboration with engineering teams, with working knowledge of modern web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Bonus if you have experience with React or similar frameworks.
- Actively leverage AI to augment your design process from research and ideation to prototyping and iteration, and continuously build fluency with modern AI tools and workflows.
- Strong awareness of emerging AI and search technologies, with curiosity and initiative to apply new capabilities to real product experiences.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects end-to-end, navigate ambiguity, and drive clarity across cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing other designers, helping raise the bar for craft, systems thinking, and execution.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly curious, thoughtful, and driven, able to quickly build context, form strong points of view, and push work forward.
- Experience in financial services, investment workflows, or data-heavy SaaS products is a plus.

- Deliver high-fidelity prototypes, interaction models, and end-to-end experiences that clearly communicate product vision and drive strategic alignment across stakeholders.
- Transform customer insights from interviews, surveys, and usability testing into actionable product direction, championing customer empathy throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Define and drive design strategy for key initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals and a clear connection between user needs, business outcomes, and product direction.
- Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex requirements into intuitive, high-quality user experiences that scale.
- Deliver exceptionally crafted solutions while elevating design quality across the team by contributing to the design system, evolving patterns, and shaping best practices.
- Design for systems, not just screens, working within and advancing a growing design system to ensure consistency, scalability, and cohesion across the product.
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies, and AI capabilities, applying new ideas to continuously improve product experiences.
- Communicate complex ideas with clarity and influence, ensuring alignment and momentum across cross-functional partners.
