What is the Opportunity? The New Nuclear Development group provides engineering, procurement, construction and project management support at the early stages of new nuclear projects. The projects could be for small modular reactors (SMR) or for large scale nuclear. Project support could include estimating, technology assessments, constructability reviews, schedule development, contract development and other activities that are typically required by clients in the early stages of project development. The work could be Aecon only or in a Joint Venture partnership with other organizations. Our projects can be in Canada, the US or Internationally. Aecon's leadership role in these early stages is critical to ensure that either Aecon alone or as part of a JV is set up for success as we move into the execution phase. The NND projects would take the work into the Validation Phase and assist in establishing the execution organization.

- Support early phase project reporting, KPI tracking, meeting coordination, action logs, and communication with internal teams, JV partners, and external stakeholders.
- Assist NND Project Managers in managing early phase project scope, schedule, cost, and risk, supporting planning activities, tracking commitments, preparing dashboards, and highlighting issues requiring leadership attention.
- Coordinate Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) activities including workshops, gated deliverables, action tracking, and documentation to support early planning and validation phase.
- Assist with early project mobilization, governance documentation, organization charts, interfaces, and alignment with NND and Aecon Nuclear governance requirements.
- Coordinate constructability reviews, execution planning inputs, and modularization strategies including offsite versus onsite fabrication considerations.
- Support EOIs, RFQs, and RFPs by coordinating schedules, tracking inputs, consolidating content, and managing submission readiness and SharePoint filing.
- Coordinate inputs and deliverables across Civil, Industrial, and Utilities teams, supporting early alignment and integrated execution strategies.
- Maintain NND SharePoint structures, manage document control, versioning, and ensure proposals and project records are filed accurately and consistently.
- Coordinate review sessions, and supporting integration of applicable lessons into early phase planning, estimating, execution strategies, and NND standards.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Experienced Project Coordinator with minimum 5 years of experience in the Nuclear industry or similar role.
- Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural) is an asset.
