Main tasks and responsibilities
Forming part of the Management Team, you will ensure effective, compliant processes and procedures are integrated into daily business activities.
- Driving and managing the safety culture and report on the safety strategy and activities within the business, embedding good behaviours and working practices throughout the business.
- Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and upcoming Health and Safety legislation and ensure the business has systems and procedures in place to meet legal compliance.
- Carry out internal and external site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to.
- Carrying out risk assessments and regular audits ensuring that all documentation are up to date.
- Full responsibility for Company preparations for annual H&S audits.
Produce reports, including reporting of key HSE metrics, statistics and present Leadership Team. - Ensure that appropriate records are maintained in compliance with legal requirements, e.g. COSHH, and that necessary notices are displayed and reviewed.
- Develop strategies and initiatives that will reduce our environmental footprint and lead to us becoming a more sustainable business.
- Work in partnership with global HSE colleagues to implement projects and initiatives when required.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Business or technical relevant University degree or a minimum of a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
- Essential – demonstrated significant experience in a Health and Safety role in an engineering or manufacturing business
- Experience of formal Safety and Environmental management systems (14 & 18001)
- Background in manufacturing, automation, or other continuous processes
- Able to problem solve key issues in a collaborative manner
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels within the organisation and with external vendors
- Excellent organisational skills with a strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional teams.
- Process oriented with a capability to take the operations to a continuous improvement journey
- Knowledge of Google Drive and share point
- Specific expertise with continuous processes and Daily Management
- Ability to lead/train on Root Cause problem solving
- Hold a full valid driving licence as travel is required within the role
