APSS Ltd is seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Quantity Surveyor or an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a fast‑paced commercial interiors and fit‑out business. You will play a key role in managing project costs, procurement, valuations and commercial performance across a range of exciting projects nationwide.
Since 1997, APSS has delivered high‑quality commercial interior fit‑out and refurbishment projects across office, retail, industrial, education and healthcare sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the commercial management of fit‑out and refurbishment projects from tender stage through to final account
- Prepare cost plans, estimates, budgets and tender submissions
- Measure works from drawings and site information
- Procure subcontractors, materials and supplier packages
- Review quotations and negotiate best‑value solutions
- Prepare and submit interim valuations and applications for payment
- Manage variations, change control and cost reporting
- Prepare subcontract payment notices and final accounts
- Monitor project costs, cash flow and profitability
- Attend site visits, progress meetings and client meetings where required
- Work closely with project managers, design teams and directors to support successful project delivery
- Ensure commercial processes are followed in line with company procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role or similar commercial position within construction, fit‑out or interiors
- Strong numerical, analytical and negotiation skills
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence preferred

- Degree / HNC / HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline
