We are recruiting an experienced Contracts Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of building services maintenance contracts across London and the South East. This is a senior, client‑facing role combining operational leadership, commercial responsibility and people management. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, compliant and profitable services while developing strong client relationships and leading engineering teams to perform at their best. This role suits an individual who takes ownership, leads from the front and enjoys balancing operational delivery with client engagement and team development.

As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the mobilisation, delivery, P&L, and performance of multiple contracts. You will manage routine planned maintenance works, subcontractors, and client relationships, ensuring high standards and profitability. You will also lead a team of engineers, supporting their development and ensuring smooth operations across sites.

Location: Slough (with travel across London and the South East)

Hours: 41.25 hours a week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of a portfolio of building services contracts, overseeing mobilisation, PPM delivery, reactive works and additional works
  • Build, maintain and grow strong client relationships through regular communication, meetings and site visits
  • Manage contract performance against budgets, service levels and profit margins
  • Retain and develop the client portfolio, identifying opportunities to add value and grow the account
  • Review engineer reports and approve quotations for remedial and additional works
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly and to a high standard
  • Ensure all contractual, operational and compliance documentation is completed accurately and on time
  • Take full responsibility for health & safety across the contract portfolio, ensuring compliance with statutory and internal requirements
  • Lead, manage and develop engineers, setting clear objectives and driving performance
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and induction of engineers and direct reports
  • Act as a senior escalation point for operational or client issues, providing clear leadership and effective resolution
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams including operations, scheduling, finance and HR

Experience & Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics
  • Proven experience managing building services maintenance contracts
  • Mechanical and/or electrical building services background
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing engineering teams
  • Strong experience in client relationship management
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Sound technical knowledge of building services and mechanical plant
  • Strong leadership and people management capability
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Commercially aware with a client‑focused mindset
  • Confident IT user (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Strong understanding of health & safety best practice within building services
