Warehouse Operative – Night Shift Chelmsford, Essex £31,000 Generous Annual Bonus Monday–Thursday Nights Permanent An excellent opportunity to join a well-established distribution business offering a stable working environment, excellent benefits and free on-site parking. THE COMPANY Our client is a leading distributor of thermoplastic sheet, rod and tubing, supplying the fabrication and signage marketplace. Owned by a global leader in acrylic manufacturing, the company is well placed to deliver excellent service and support to its customers. Due to continued growth, they are now recruiting a Night Shift Warehouse Operative for their Chelmsford distribution centre.
THE ROLE
You will join an established warehouse team, ensuring customer orders are picked, prepared, loaded and dispatched accurately, efficiently and safely.
Your responsibilities will include:
Receiving and dispatching goods Picking, preparing and loading customer orders Stock control and inventory management Conducting quality checks Ensuring deliveries are unloaded, checked and stored correctly Operating warehouse equipment safely and efficiently Following company health and safety procedures Maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in a busy warehouse environment HOURS & PAY Monday to Thursday: 9:30 pm–7:30 am Overtime is available, typically on Friday evenings/Saturday mornings, depending on operational requirements.
Friday overtime hours are not fixed but could, for example, be 6:00 pm–12:00 am. Some overtime is expected, although not necessarily every week. The company takes a flexible approach and aims to rotate overtime fairly, taking individual circumstances into consideration.
Basic salary: £31,000 per annum THE PACKAGE £31,000 basic salary Generous annual bonus 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays Christmas shutdown Company pension – contribution matching plus an additional 2% Holiday purchase scheme Free on-site parking Stable, established working environment WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Ideally, you will have: Previous experience working in a busy warehouse or distribution environment Reach truck and counterbalance forklift experience, ideally both Good stock-handling and order-picking experience Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong awareness of health and safety procedures Good communication and teamwork skills A flexible, reliable and positive approach to work Additional experience that would be advantageous: Experience working with CNC machinery, cutting equipment, flat sheet materials or Schelling cutting saws would be beneficial, although not essential, as full training will be provided.
LOCATION
