Location: Working from home with travel across the East Midlands

At Able Personnel, we are recruiting on behalf of a respected and growing training provider for a passionate Accountancy Mentor to join their expanding team based in Derby and the surrounding East Midlands. This is a hybrid role with a mix of home working and travel across the East Midlands, including visits to learners and employers on a regular basis, with the option to work from office bases when preferred.

You will play a key role in supporting learners through their apprenticeship journey and helping them progress towards successful completion of their qualifications.

What you will be doing:

  • Mentoring and supporting learners throughout their apprenticeship journey and helping them progress towards successful completion of AAT qualifications
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with learners and employers to support engagement and progress
  • Managing your own diary and completing structured progression reviews with clear targets and support plans
  • Tracking learner progress using online systems and providing clear feedback and reporting
  • Delivering pastoral support where needed to help learners stay motivated and supported
  • Embedding equality and diversity, safeguarding, British values, Prevent and health and safety into all learning activity
  • Working closely with colleagues to support learner achievement and timely completion
  • Ensuring all documentation and compliance requirements are met to a high standard
  • Keeping your own professional knowledge up to date within the accountancy field

What we are looking for:

  • AAT Level 3 and AAT Level 4 qualification as a minimum
  • Experience working within an accountancy or finance environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage learners effectively
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to manage your own workload
  • Confident IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Full driving licence with access to a vehicle for travel across the East Midlands
  • Supportive and empathetic approach with a genuine desire to help others succeed
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team

Desirable:

  • Mentoring, teaching or training experience
  • Experience within apprenticeships or the education sector
  • Teaching or assessing qualification

Salary and benefits:
