This is a fully remote opportunity to join a global leader committed to ethics, integrity, and innovation. Abacus is exclusively recruiting a highly skilled Compliance (In House) Counsel to join the global legal team and provide strategic and practical support for operations across EMEA and APAC regions. This is a high-impact legal role offering exposure to global compliance matters in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
As Compliance Counsel, you will:
- Provide strategic legal and compliance advice to business operations and units across EMEA & APAC on topics including anti-corruption, antitrust, financial crimes, conflicts of interest and other relevant regulations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees, providing guidance on ethical decision-making and compliance obligations.
- Tailor and implement compliance initiatives to all stakeholders.
- Conduct internal investigations into alleged policy or legal violations, recommend corrective actions, and ensure compliance with best practices.
- Design and deliver engaging training programs tailored to regional needs.
- Lead regional compliance risk assessments and drive mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement region-specific compliance policies, ensuring alignment with global standards and local regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support global ethics and compliance initiatives and projects.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years PQE gained either in-house or private practice.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including anti-corruption, conflicts of interest, antitrust and financial crime regulations.
- Proven experience conducting internal investigations.
- Ability to deal with senior level stakeholders with authority, relationship management, think objectively and with a balanced business mindset.
It’s an advantage if you offer:
- Prior in-house ethics and compliance experience including bribery and corruption.
- Familiarity with data privacy laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations.
- A strategic thinker, with the ability to drive vision and purpose, manage ambiguity and influence stakeholders.

This role is fully remote (UK operational hours), but you can attend the office voluntarily. The level and frequency of travel is low.
