Joining our Rod and Bar Mill team as a Mechanical Engineer, you will be working on some of the largest pieces of kit you'll find in the industry. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage mechanical activities (i.e. planned maintenance programs, shutdowns or emergency repairs) to minimize break-downs and malfunctions.
  • Ensure that risk assessments, method statements and permits are created, implemented and being followed.
  • Estimate the cost, time, and resources required for repair and improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers in other disciplines and shift managers to ensure the effective running of the process.
  • Working within the wider Engineering Team, you'll be leading and managing projects as well as a team of Mechanical Technicians.

Analysis, design and planning is a key part of your role, but you will also enjoy being down on the plant and getting stuck in. You will be an experienced and skilled Mechanical Engineer, who is passionate about manufacturing, continuous learning, and team development. Ideally your background will be in a heavy industry environment, but most importantly, hands-on, practical engineering will excite you.

You will need:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong experience of Preventative Maintenance & Reliability Engineering processes.
  • Hands-on engineer who prioritises the efficient running of the plant.
  • Experience of leading and developing successful teams.
