As a Business Support Officer, you will learn about the service the team provides and how it makes a difference to people’s lives. Within this role you can make a real difference by being well organised, be able to think strategically, and have the ability to lead a team.

The main part of this role is to provide effective and efficient strategic, business and technical support to Adoption South East with a focus on adoption support services. You will be required to provide high quality monitoring and oversight of the Keeping In Touch and Adopted Adult service within Adoption Support. You will need to be able to manage and maintain positive relationships with adoptive families, birth families and those affected by adoption, and provide information, advice and support to designated teams.

The role will also include:

  • Leading on the day-to-day administration of the Adoption Support service, in particular the Keeping In Touch and Adopted Adult processes
  • Working closely with the Adoption Support Service Manager/ Keeping In Touch Manager to ensure the service runs effectively
  • To line manage and supervise the ASE Keeping In Touch and Adopted Adult Administration Team
  • Overseeing local data systems to ensure they are complete and accurate.
  • Providing prompt, accurate and easy-to-use local information about the Keeping in Touch service as required to managers and BS colleagues.
  • Overseeing central communication processes such as central inboxes and data management systems.
  • Operate financial administration and procurement processes as required
  • Attend and contribute to local and regional meetings
  • Support and deliver on projects to support initiatives within the team

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Can supervise a small Business Support Team
  • Can effectively organise their own and their teams workload and meet deadlines
  • Can design, develop and implement effective administrative systems to meet the changing needs of the service.
  • Are able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders such as service providers and families.
  • Has the ability to deal with challenging and distressed clients
  • Has the ability to exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive information to maintain strict confidentiality where appropriate
  • Are able to work as part of a small team, but also engage and collaborate with other staff from across the agency.
