Role: Relief Technical Operator Salary: £28,793.24 Working Hours: Monday – Friday 6am – 2pm and 2pm – 10pm, alternate weeks Location: Carlisle, 54 Church Street, Cumbria, CA2 5TG What’s it like working at a factory? What will this role achieve? As a Relief Technical Operator your main responsibility is to work as part of a team in the packing and feeding of biscuits in line with site requirements. When required, you will stand in as a Technical Operator. Technical Operators are accountable for carrying out tasks within the machinery. The role requires a proactive individual with a ‘can do’ attitude who is committed to maintaining high standards in production whilst working as part of a dynamic team.Must want to progress within your team as you will be trained to step into the permanent role when needed. Will be required to move lines across the factory as and when required. What will be your key deliverables? Manually pack products within specifications (includes bending, lifting, stretching) Visually check for foreign matter / hazards Ensure quality of biscuits being packed is within product specifications Ensure adherence to all quality and safety standards. Work to a high standard, enabling plants to achieve planned output. Report any problems to ATM/Supervisor Ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained. Support the Supervisors in the introduction and support of any improvement initiatives. Provide a co-ordinated link with all production processes on the line. Technical Operator responsibilities Prioritise and agree allocation of tasks within Technical Operator Team Take ownership and accountability for Supply Chain Excellence in the area (including Tiered Meetings and SCE Boards) Establish high standards of work and work proactively in developing continuous improvement within the area Carry out all pre-start checks Ensure product is made to the correct quality and specification for start of shift and throughout Understand equipment and machinery set up Ensure changeovers are completed to procedure Ensure any re-work procedures are followed Carry out machinechangeovers Ensure product is to correct quality and specification, make adjusts to machinery settings to maintain product consistency Ensure all documentation is filled in correctly and to the right standard Always maintain everyday factory standards safely Shift handovers are completed in area and to agreed agenda Train peers and new operatives in equipment use and procedures when required Undertake basic problem diagnosis and maintenance Ensure team understand the planning of their daily tasks Communicate directly with relevant person to resolve any issue Prioritise and agree allocation of tasks within Technical Operator Team Machine fault identification, diagnosis and rectification (where applicable) Confirm and prioritise production activity in line with production plan Bring your experience Essential Basic numerical and literacy knowledge Manual dexterity Basic communication skills Basic problem recognition Excellent team working skills Be able to multi-task and have the drive and tenacity to work under your own initiative Positive attitude and willingness to drive change within operational environment Desirable Previous experience is desirable but not essential, training will be given. Knowledge of manufacturing environment and of HACCP and safe systems of work Understand zonal Key Performance Indicators (production targets, waste levels and line performance) What does the recruitment process consist of?
