Social Worker Opportunity in the South East of England Myn is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our long-term client in the South East of England. We are looking for dedicated and professional Social Workers to join their team. This role is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in your community. Role Purpose In this position, you will work alongside families to understand their needs and strengths. Our focus is to promote the welfare of children while respecting family rights and supporting them to identify positive changes. The goal is to empower families to make informed decisions and improve outcomes for children. Key Responsibilities Triage incoming contacts to determine if they meet statutory thresholds for social work intervention. Conduct thorough assessments of family members to identify strengths, needs, and risks. Develop SMART plans with families to reduce risks and address needs, ensuring the childs welfare is prioritised. Work collaboratively with partners and conduct regular child in need and core group meetings. Undertake child protection investigations and work with families to create plans that reduce harm and promote safety. Where necessary, initiate discussions regarding legal proceedings to safeguard children. Engage with commissioning, fostering, and adoption teams to secure stable, high-quality placements for children. Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely records in line with organisational standards. Collaborate with legal services and family courts to manage legal processes effectively. Promote a reflective and purposeful social work practice, participating in regular supervision sessions. Foster integrated working relationships across teams and partner agencies. Ensure children and young peoples views are central to planning and service delivery. Essential Qualifications and Skills A recognised professional social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with or eligibility to register with the HCPC.Substantial experience in direct work with children, young people, and families in a statutory setting. Strong understanding of UK childcare law, statutory guidance, and Working Together 2018. Proficient in writing clear and concise reports, assessments, and SMART plans.Skilled in motivational interviewing or a willingness to develop this approach. Excellent partnership and communication skills to work effectively with families and other professionals. Competent in IT and numeracy skills.
