About our team: We are a growing, passionate, multiskilled, diverse and supportive group of UX Designers, UI Designers and UX Researchers. We play a pivotal role in defining and developing the products used by our customers. About the role: An Associate UX Researcher plays a crucial role in understanding user behaviours, needs and motivations while training in UX research techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding user needs: You\’ll conduct your own research such as user interviews, surveys, usability testing or analysing usage data to uncover user pain points, motivations, and behaviours. You might delve into understanding user journeys, information architecture, and content needs.
- Crafting research plans: Working closely with senior researchers and designers, you\’ll help define research questions, select appropriate methodologies, and develop study plans tailored to specific project needs.
- Unveiling user insights: Through data analysis and synthesis, you\’ll transform raw qualitative and quantitative data into meaningful insights that inform design decisions. You\’ll create compelling reports, presentations, and persona documents to effectively communicate your findings.
- Shaping the user experience: You\’ll collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to translate your research findings into actionable design solutions that truly resonate with users. You\’ll witness your research directly impacting the products and services used by thousands of users around the world.
Requirements:
- Studying or have studied a degree or higher qualification in a related discipline e.g. Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), psychology, sociology, or anthropology. Candidates from other disciplines are encouraged to apply if you can demonstrate your grasp of research methods .
- Can demonstrate some experience conducting primary research like surveys, interviews, usability testing, ethnography, etc. (can be coursework or work experience) .
- Have a keen interest in conducting research to enhance user experience for digital and data products .
- Are a self-starter and, with support from more senior researchers, able to drive their projects forward and thrive in a fast-paced product development environment.
- Have excellent analytical and communication skills, able to understand the problems users face and craft compelling narratives based on research findings to drive user-centred decisions.
- Able to quickly learn new research and analysis methods and tools – some experience with specific UX research techniques (e.g. usability testing) is a plus!
