Lakeland Dairies Bromley, London, Category Development Marketing Manager—Butter Foodservice & Consumer Foods Lakeland Dairies Co-operative Society Limited (The Group) is the second largest dairy processor on the island of Ireland. The business is complex and ambitious with a milk supply pool of 2 billion liters of milk, drawn from over 3,200 family farms across 16 counties. With the most modern dairy manufacturing facilities in 8 locations on a cross-border basis, the Group supplies to a broad customer base including some of the world’s foremost ‘blue chip’ companies across the dairy food ingredients, foodservice and consumer food channels on a domestic Ireland, UK, European and global basis. Internationally we export some 240 different products to over 100 countries worldwide. The Group’s Agribusiness Division (Lakeland Agri) operates a state-of-the-art Animal Feed Manufacturing Facility and is a leading and innovative provider of the highest quality feeds and agricultural inputs to dairy, beef, and sheep farmers across the north and south of Ireland. Applications are invited for the above position to work as part of the Foodservice & Consumer Foods Marketing Team. This role can be based at any of the Foodservice & Consumer Foods sites with regular travel expected. The Role Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role is critical to our ambition to be regarded as Food Service & Consumer Foods dairy specialists in all the markets we operate, directly contributing to business growth. By taking full responsibility of all aspects of our products and brands within the portfolio & generating clear category objectives you will enable delivery of the Foodservice Division’s strategic objectives. The role is responsible for the development of new products within the category for brand & own label, generated by having a 3- year pipeline that delivers sustainable profitable business growth. The role will be responsible for gathering and interpreting all available data, commissioning research and developing compelling insights to ultimately grow our category. The Person The role requires a candidate to be degree level educated (or equivalent) and have experience working in marketing in Foodservice, Retail, FMCG markets. A degree-level education in Marketing, Product Development or Food Science Business discipline would be desirable but not essential. A proven track record in marketing, product development & management, commissioning research as well as experience in analysing, interpreting and presenting data is essential. It would be advantageous to have knowledge of the butter and dairy industry, however this is not essential. The candidate must be able to demonstrate that they are commercially aware with a high level of numeracy skills, manipulation and analysis of data and generation of compelling analysis/insights. Excellent project management skills and resilience to deliver complex projects to varying deadlines are essential. The candidate must be a highly creative self-starter who is motivated by a fast-paced environment and possess excellent communication and collaboration skills to build effective networks internally and externally.
