Area Sales Manager / Sales Engineer (UK & Ireland)
Key Responsibilities
- Support the sales team by identifying and delivering tailored solutions that meet customer requirements.
- Operate primarily from a home office, with periodic travel to Worcester for in‑person meetings and customer demonstrations.
- Achieve sales target assigned by sales manager for dedicated region.
- Regularly meet with customers over the phone, by e‑mail or in person to assist in technical, application and commercial aspects of the sales process.
- Prepare and present technical presentations and demonstrations of ZwickRoell group products as needed.
- Manage and interpret customer requirements, speaking with customers to understand their needs and recommending suitable solutions.
- Generate technical sales proposals and discuss the proposal with the customer.
- Manage and update records of customer communication and sales activity in the CRM system and follow internal communication protocols and workflows.
- Finalize orders after technical and commercial negotiation meetings with customers.
- Maintain good relationships with customers throughout the sales and after‑sales process.
- Inform the marketing department per the defined timeline for upcoming marketing events (exhibitions, conferences, fairs, seminars) and work closely with marketing to conduct such activities.
- Attend and arrange exhibitions, conferences, forums and seminars to attract and retain customers, increase network, improve product branding and increase market awareness.
- Prepare weekly, monthly and visit reports and submit them to the sales manager per defined timelines.
- Prepare and run software demonstrations.
- Fulfill ad‑hoc duties assigned by the sales manager.
Qualifications
- Degree in mechanical engineering or other engineering, technology or science related subject is advantageous but not necessary.
- Business development and account management experience of capex or scientific equipment through industrial end‑users is essential.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly proficient in MS Office and capable of producing and editing large Word documents, Excel sheets and PowerPoint presentations. Knowledge of MS SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, MS Teams is desirable.
- Experience using CRM (Microsoft Dynamics preferably).
- Ability to present company and technical presentations.
- Able to work under pressure and autonomously.
