Baxter Thetford is looking for a Process Operator within our Bottlepack filling fast-paced operation.

This role is rotating shifts, Monday‑Sunday between 06:00-18:00/18:00-06:00 which is 42 hours per week. This could look like 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 nights on, 3 nights off etc.

We offer a competitive training salary which will increase once fully trained AND a weekly shift allowance of £109.86.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Run, operate & maintain the Bottlepack Blow/fill and seal plastic machines
  • Maintains the optimum line performance throughout the shift by adjusting the machine within validated parameters
  • Performs daily and weekly cleaning of the equipment and the area
  • Performs maintenance checks on machines
  • Fault finding skills to overcome any issues that may arise in the manufacturing process
  • Be actively involved in improvement programs, demonstrating a willingness to embrace new ways of working
  • Identifying quality defects and reject them as well as escalating issues to the team leader
  • Supporting with rectifying issues when they arise
  • Follow EHS/GMP/GDP/company and corporate policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Operate within the Baxter documentation procedures (BaxU) and requirements meeting all safety quality and performance guidelines, ensuring batch paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Experience required:

  • Experience of working in a GMP environment (pharma, food, FMCG)
  • Proven experience in operating manufacturing or processing equipment in a production environment
  • Machine minder experience with a strong understanding of equipment performance and controls
  • Awareness and experience of batch processing, including start-up and shutdown activities in line with procedural requirements
  • Basic technical knowledge with the ability to support machine set-up and carry out troubleshooting activities where required
  • Experience in machine adjustments and problem-solving is advantageous.
  • Troubleshooting capability is highly desirable, particularly where supported by strong technical knowledge and understanding of equipment performance.
  • Quality focused – able to deal with routine, repetitive tasks whilst maintaining good attention to detail
  • Team Working - working as part of a team & sharing workload fairly with a willingness to work cooperatively and offer support in order to solve problems and achieve team targets
  • Maintains high standards of behaviour whilst managing workload
  • Flexible - able to carry out varied tasks often at short notice, adjust break timings around the production, work additional hours and adjust working hours as required by the business
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast paced environment
  • Punctuality is key as well as strong attendance
  • Good standard of English comprehension
