The Role

Assist the Head of Legal with a wide scope of in‑house commercial legal work, which spans the following areas:

  • Commercial contracts
  • Potential disputes and litigation
  • Corporate
  • Data protection
  • Regulatory
  • Employment
  • Property and real estate

You will also act as a legal point of contact to Zuto’s internal, customer‑facing teams to answer initial queries, particularly insofar as these relate to consumer rights & rights of customers, Zuto’s Dealership T&Cs, Zuto’s privacy policies and how each of these are applied in practice. This may extend to running legal clinics supporting the customer‑facing teams in their day‑to‑day roles, as required. You will work with the Head of Legal on drafting, reviewing, marking up and summarising our suite of partner contracts – our affiliates and our panel of lenders – and all other contracts with suppliers. Provide training on key legal skills for Zutonites, on areas including data protection, employment policies and consumer rights. Be available to support the business with accurate and up‑to‑date legal advice. As part of this, candidates will be expected to undertake relevant training as required and be pro‑active in keeping up with changes in legislation, which the business will support. Develop a fundamental understanding of Zuto’s business model and way of work in order to be able to effectively advise on legal matters. Work in a timely manner in accordance with any deadlines set.

What you’ll need

Candidates should have between 0 – 4 years PQE. Have a good understanding/knowledge of commercial contracts, with experience in‑role in a commercial team or equivalent experience (e.g. in‑house secondment / trainee seat).
