The opportunity:

Do you have Group Income Protection, Group Life Assurance & Group Critical Illness scheme underwriting experience? Are you looking for a new opportunity? If so, we would love to hear from you! We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Zurich Corporate Risk (ZCR) Scheme Underwriting team. You will produce group risk quotations and make sound and skilful underwriting decisions for new and existing schemes within agreed authority limits and in line with the Zurich Corporate Risk underwriting philosophy.

Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. What will you be doing?

  • Contribute towards ZCR’s growth plans through assessing and underwriting schemes and setting the right rate and terms for the risk.
  • Analyse and assess risk, whilst offering tailored, bespoke quotations and solutions to meet the individual client needs.
  • Confirm risk on new schemes and acceptance of retest terms on existing schemes.
  • Keep up to date with scheme underwriting philosophy, taking into account experience and market conditions.
  • Provide a standout service experience for customers and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture (role model behaviour).
  • Take responsibility for delivering quality and timely output to our customers through taking ownership of own workload and also supporting colleagues to deliver our team workload.
  • Use best practice to boost effectiveness and efficiency of our processes.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum 2 years Group Risk underwriting experience is essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of the group risk market and products.
  • Good judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Innovative thinking and ability to challenge processes and decisions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to think on your feet.
  • Flexibility to cope with varying workloads and pressures.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Ownership of workload and resolution of queries.
