The opportunity:
In the role of Senior Technical Underwriter – Property, you will be required to utilise your technical knowledge and analytical skills to constantly drive and support growth and improvements to our regional and national portfolio. Reporting to the Regional Underwriting Leader, you will work closely with the local underwriting & sales functions to deliver our strategic objectives, deliver for our customers, and work to build and enhance relationships with our broker partners and internal stakeholders. As a senior member of the team, part of your role will be providing technical underwriting support and guidance to the wider underwriting team and supporting their development. You will also have accountability and ownership for driving, analysing and delivering a strong underwriting result.
The successful candidate will need to display a positive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude and an inquisitive nature.
What are we looking for?
You will have established, strong property underwriting experience with a track record of delivery for customers of all sizes and experience of managing complex risk. Additional experience in other lines of business, particularly Casualty, is preferable but not essential. Ideally, you will already be based in the Midlands/South-West area so you can draw on your experience and knowledge of the market in this area. We’re looking for someone who is happy to challenge processes and decisions using your attention to detail and someone looking to develop and broaden their knowledge. Organisational skills, the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines is also key.
