Join our Financial Risk and Insights team and play a key role in how we manage and oversee financial and insurance risks. Your expertise will help us find smarter ways to keep our business strong and secure. You’ll gain a holistic view of the Zurich UK P&C business and work with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
The Financial Risk and Insights team supports the UK Chief Risk Officer. We work closely with the wider UK Risk team and Zurich Group colleagues to foster a culture of sound risk awareness, support risk identification and mitigation, and provide oversight of the delivery of the business strategy. The team oversees financial risk activity in actuarial, reinsurance, investments, proposition development and pricing, engaging with a broad set of stakeholders.
What will you be doing? As a P&C Risk Actuary, you will support the team to operate a robust financial risk management framework and have the chance to shape and improve our risk management processes. Specific responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Chief Risk Officer in providing challenge, oversight and risk opinions on reinsurance, reserving, product design and pricing, exposure management, business plan, solvency, and capital utilisation.
- Oversee the stress and scenario testing and driving improvements in these practices.
- Reviewing and challenging the company’s financial risk profile and helping develop existing Risk Appetite statements and metrics.
- Taking part in risk assessments, including looking at emerging risks and climate change.
- Contributing to the production of the Own Risk Assessment (ORA) report.
- Supporting key strategic and regulatory projects.
- Contributing to regulatory reporting and responding to ad hoc regulatory requests.
- Staying up to date with technical expertise, regulations, professional guidance, and deepening your understanding of the UK business and strategy.
- Building strong relationships across the wider Risk teams, and the wider UK business and Group.
What are we looking for? You’ll need to be a qualified P&C actuary with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience. While risk management experience is a plus, what matters most is your enthusiasm for applying your skills in a risk-focused actuarial role and a range of risk topics. We are looking for somebody who can show:
- Strong financial skills and business awareness with a solid understanding of the UK market and regulatory environment.

- Great attention to detail with an analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication – both written and interpersonal so you can work well with colleagues at all levels across the business—including our Group teams.
