Zurich Engineering is looking to expand our highly skilled, field-based, Engineer Surveyor team. This vacancy is for the NW Home Counties area for a Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) Engineer Surveyor. You’ll be the face of Zurich to our clients, with a fully flexible diary to manage your own client areas and develop relationships while representing Zurich Engineering. You’ll work in a variety of environments and control your work/life balance, developing your mechanical engineering skills within a market-leading engineering inspection provider.
What will I be doing?
You’ll start with industry-leading, bespoke training and then move to carrying out hands-on statutory inspections. You will provide expert opinion on a wide range of equipment to help clients comply with relevant legislation and high standards. After inspections, you’ll report using a rugged laptop and issue electronically to clients, so good IT skills and literacy are required. You will be an excellent communicator and confident in your ability to make sound engineering judgments.
What skills/qualifications will I have?
You will be an experienced engineer with solid knowledge of your discipline and be part of a multi-disciplined inspection team within your geographic area. You will report to a Team Manager and be based from home, with your client base a reasonable travelling distance from your home. Ideally, you will have:
- A Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering field; support is available to help you achieve IEng status
- A P601 LEV qualification is advantageous
- You will have completed either a time-served or Modern Apprenticeship
- Hands-on experience in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience with pumps and motors (preferable)
- A full valid UK driving licence
- Be willing and able to work paid overtime
