The opportunity

As a Senior Exposure Management Analyst, you'll play a key role in helping shape the future of Exposure Management at Zurich UK.

Working across multiple lines of business, you'll provide risk insights, challenge portfolio decisions, and support the development of exposure management capabilities that directly influence underwriting strategy, portfolio performance and business growth.

You will contribute to the continued evolution of our exposure management capabilities, including exposure data, scenario modelling, portfolio optimisation and decision support.

This includes developing and challenging realistic disaster scenarios, supporting emerging risk assessments, and helping underwriters better understand the impact of exposure concentrations and accumulation risk.

This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional reporting and modelling activities and play an active role in supporting strategic portfolio decisions, helping Zurich build a more forward-looking and data-driven approach to exposure management.

Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours.

This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

What will you be doing?

  • Support the development of Zurich's view of risk across natural catastrophe, casualty, terrorism, climate and emerging risk exposures.
  • Develop, assess and enhance Realistic Disaster Scenarios (RDS), stress tests and portfolio risk assessments to support underwriting, capital and governance decisions.
  • Deliver portfolio exposure analysis and commentary, providing clear insights into exposure concentrations, accumulation drivers, portfolio resilience and emerging risk trends.
  • Partner with Underwriting teams to support portfolio optimisation decisions and risk-adjusted growth opportunities.
  • Challenge and validate catastrophe models, exposure assumptions and scenario outputs to ensure robust risk assessment.
  • Drive improvements in exposure data quality, coverage and governance, working closely with business and data stakeholders.
  • Support event response activities by assessing potential portfolio impacts from major catastrophe and non-catastrophe events.
  • Lead development of enhanced reporting and analytical capabilities, leveraging automation, modern data solutions and evolving technology platforms.
  • Research emerging industry developments, market practices and regulatory expectations to continuously evolve Exposure Management capabilities.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor for exposure management topics across the business.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong experience within Exposure Management, Catastrophe Modelling, Portfolio Analytics, Capital Modelling or a related insurance risk discipline.
  • Experience analysing exposure and accumulation risk across one or more insurance portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of catastrophe models, scenario analysis and stress testing methodologies.
  • Ability to translate technical modelling outputs into clear business recommendations for underwriting and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience handling large datasets and developing analytical solutions using tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI or equivalent.
  • Understanding of exposure data structures, portfolio monitoring techniques and data quality management.
  • Interest in emerging risks, climate risk, casualty accumulations and evolving catastrophe management practices.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge, influence and present findings to senior audiences.
