Opportunity
Lead a high-performing pricing team, drive innovation, deliver commercial impact and shape the continuous improvement of our pricing function.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing pricing team, fostering collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Set strategic direction for UK retail pricing, including development of pricing tools, models, data and analysis.
- Lead and manage BAU and long-term deliverables, ensuring clear business impact and regular review of priorities with an agile mindset.
- Translate complex pricing analysis into clear, actionable insight for retail and municipal leaders.
- Provide strategic direction for model price, rate revisions, rate development, competitor benchmarking and rate proposals.
- Engage stakeholders across the business, fostering collaboration and influencing strategic portfolio decisions.
- Lead pricing governance, ensuring delivery within UK and group guidelines and compliance with FCA, CBI and regulator rules.
- Mentor, develop and manage a team of actuarial professionals, lead talent management and succession planning, and manage departmental budget.
- Work closely with the Head of Commercial Pricing and UK CPA on cross-functional initiatives.
- Play a key role in the underwriting leadership team, owning outcomes and driving commercial performance.
Qualifications
- Strategic leader with proven commercial impact in retail pricing, data-driven strategy and high-performance team leadership.
- Qualified actuary or equivalent analytical background with deep pricing methodology expertise (AI/data enrichment highly desirable).
- Commercial acumen aligned with Zurich UK’s strategy, translating market insights into profitable pricing actions.
- Leadership experience in pricing teams and ability to develop and inspire high-performing teams.
- Strategic mindset to shape and evolve retail pricing capabilities.
- Change leadership, driving innovation through data, technology and analytics.
- Excellent communication skills, simplifying complex pricing concepts for all audiences.
Certification Regime
This role is subject to the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR); completion of regulatory reference requirements is required.
