We have an opportunity for a Building Surveyor, specialising in Reinstatement Cost assessments to join our diverse, passionate and thought leading team. Zurich Resilience Solutions is pivotal to supporting our customers internally and externally, with market leading risk management solutions which include onsite assessment, desktop assessment, account management, thought leadership advice and much more.
This is a fantastically diverse and rewarding role which will involve providing assessments of building reinstatement costs for insurance purposes in accordance with the relevant building regulations to a range of public sector and commercial clients.
We are looking for a candidate who has a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in reinstatement surveying and is looking to grow and develop their personal skills and knowledge in a fast paced, energetic and dynamic organisation. The role is home-based but with flexibility to attend any office if preferred.
Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.
What will you be doing?
- Travel on average 2-3 days per week to customer premises to undertake physical on-site reinstatement cost assessment in accordance with RICS standards
- Reviewing internal data sources and open-source data to conduct desktop reinstatement cost assessments
- Preparing and presenting customer property reports to support business cases, including statements of need with accurate measurements, sites and premises
- Travel to customer premises to undertake physical site inspections
- Contribute to thought leadership and technical insight delivered to customers and key business partners both in the commercial and residential sector

- Assoc RICS / MRICS Qualification
- Consultative approach with the ability to recognising opportunities to generate revenue
- Self-motivated and able to manage own diary whilst collaborating with the wider team
- Demonstrating strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Experience in working to key customer deadlines whilst maintaining high standards of work
- Pro-actively takes ownership of responsibilities, manages time efficiently and adapts to changing priorities
- Excellent presentation and customer engagement skills; experienced at influencing and negotiation
- Build trusted relationships and promote collaborative teamwork, seeking diverse perspectives from internal and external partners
- A full UK driving licence.
