Overview
Assistant Market Underwriter: Cardiff at Zurich Insurance. This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis (Monday to Friday). Location: Cardiff (Hybrid working, minimum 50% office based). Closing date for applications: 22 September 2025. The position is expected to commence in November 2025.

As an SME Insurance Underwriter, you’ll work closely with broker partners to deliver insurance solutions that support businesses providing everyday products and services. We’re looking for people with some insurance experience who are committed to putting customers first. You’ll receive full training and ongoing support to help you thrive in your role, with a team that values collaboration and customer-centricity.
What you’ll be doing
- Analysing and underwriting new and existing business for SME clients.
- Building relationships with brokers and intermediaries through live chat, phone calls, and our trading platform.
- Providing an outstanding service experience for both customers and stakeholders.
- Managing your own workload while supporting colleagues to achieve team goals.
- Taking ownership for delivering quality, timely insurance solutions.
- Sharing ideas for improvement to help the team work more efficiently.
- Adapting to change and thinking creatively in a fast-paced environment.
