What you can look forward to

We provide insurance solutions for a wide range of customers, from the public to small and medium-sized enterprises, local government, and large multinational corporations. Our actuarial teams drive pricing and reserving across these markets. You will be part of the actuarial team, learning from a group of actuaries and analysts in the UK and wider company. A buddy will be assigned to support your start.

Two streams within General Insurance

  • Actuarial reserving team – You’ll calculate expected future claims, apply statistical techniques, analyse trends, communicate insights, and estimate capital requirements.
  • Actuarial pricing team – You’ll help set prices for policies by analyzing risk characteristics, profitability, customer segmentation, and pricing technology.

Rotations between the two streams are possible as you gain experience.

Development and support

You will work with qualified actuaries and benefit from a comprehensive support programme, including membership and examination fees, study materials, tutorials, and paid study leave. The internal “Actuarial Academy” provides shadowing opportunities, professional development, and broadens actuarial skills and industry knowledge. We also offer mentoring to help plan exam and revision time.

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in a STEM subject – predicted or recently achieved
  • Minimum C/4 grade in English and Maths at GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Minimum Maths A grade at A-level
  • At least 128 UCAS points from 3 A-Levels (or equivalent)
  • You must have indefinite, full right to work in the UK. We cannot sponsor. You must have resided in the UK for at least three consecutive years.
