The opportunity
Are you looking to take the next step in your underwriting career? We’re seeking a talented Trading Underwriter to join our Property & Casualty team in Glasgow, where you’ll manage and develop our existing business portfolio. You’ll play a key role in supporting profitable growth while building strong relationships with our brokers and clients.
What you’ll be doing:
Assess and review existing business applications for property and casualty insurance.
Evaluate risks, set appropriate coverage, and determine competitive premium rates.
Gather and analyse information to make sound, informed underwriting decisions.
Work closely with your colleagues and other professionals to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
What you’ll bring:
Experience as a property and casualty underwriter, ideally with a focus on existing business.
Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
Confidence working with complex information.
Proficiency in underwriting systems and related tools.
Sound knowledge of insurance regulations and industry standards.
Great communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
