Risk Engineer – Property and Business Interruption, Maidstone

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to advance their career within Risk Management by joining our diverse, passionate, and thought-leading ZRS Property Team.

This client-facing role involves working with our larger Corporate, Real Estate, and international customers to provide tailored risk engineering solutions.

The position is home-based in South UK, with travel to customer sites across London and the Home Counties. It is an essential car user position with a company car allowance.

We seek candidates experienced in Property & Business Assessments, with some Account Engineering background. The role offers training and development to help you grow into an established Account Engineer. Ideal candidates are ambitious, customer-focused, responsive, team-oriented, and strive for excellence.

Zurich Resilience Solutions provides market-leading risk management services, including survey programs, account management, and technical advice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing customer service strategies to reduce loss and improve risk management.
  • Conducting desktop and on-site assessments following internal guidelines.
  • Collaborating with Risk Engineering Assistants on reports and reviews.
  • Managing risk improvement actions proactively.
  • Supporting business development through understanding Zurich Resilience Solutions offerings.
  • Contributing to thought leadership via articles and events.
  • Delivering risk engineering programs within SLAs, collaborating globally as needed.
  • Providing technical support for large building projects.
  • Engaging regularly with Business Partners in London.

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience in property loss prevention, including Business Interruption and Natural Hazards, with a willingness to upskill in Fire Protection.
  • Experience assessing High Rise buildings.
  • Experience managing customer accounts and stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Commitment to self and team development.
  • Degree in Engineering or similar (preferred).
