Risk Engineer – Property and Business Interruption, Manchester
This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to advance their career in Risk Management by joining our diverse, passionate, and thought-leading ZRS Property Team.
This client-facing role involves working with our larger Corporate, Real Estate, and international clients to provide tailored risk engineering solutions. The position is home-based in South UK, with travel to customer sites across London and the Home Counties. It is an essential car user (ECU) role with a company car allowance.
The successful candidate will have experience in Property & Business Assessments, preferably with some Account Engineering background. We support career development through training, and we seek individuals with ambition, customer focus, responsiveness, teamwork, and a drive for excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement customer service strategies to reduce loss and improve risk management.
- Conduct desktop and on-site risk assessments following technical guidelines.
- Collaborate with Risk Engineering Assistants on reports, benchmarking, and review meetings.
- Manage progress on risk improvement actions for assigned accounts.
- Support business development by understanding Zurich Resilience Solutions and collaborating with teams.
- Contribute to thought leadership through events, articles, and publications.
- Deliver risk engineering programs in line with service level agreements, collaborating with global networks and contractors.
- Provide technical support for large building projects and refurbishments.
- Engage regularly with Business Partners in London.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in property loss prevention, Business Interruption, and Natural Hazards; willingness to upskill in Fixed Fire Protection.
- Experience assessing High Rise buildings.
- Experience managing customer accounts and stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent presentation, relationship, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Commitment to self and team development.
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent is desirable.
