The opportunity:

Delegated Authority is a key part of what we do at Zurich, and as this area of the business continues to grow, we’re looking for a Delegated Authority Motor Underwriter to join our team. This is an exciting and influential role that sits at the heart of our development and growth strategy.

Working closely with our Delegated Partners, you’ll provide portfolio management and underwriting expertise while delivering first class service to our partners and customers. Our portfolio includes a wide range of niche trades and risks, so you’ll need to bring flexibility and a creative mindset to help shape solutions that meet the needs of our partners.

What will you be doing?

  • Manage and develop an existing portfolio while building strong relationships with our Delegated Partners.
  • Deliver exceptional service and ensure the profitable performance of the portfolio.
  • Support our growth ambitions by contributing to new business opportunities.
  • Act as a senior member of the team with accountability for driving, analysing, and delivering a strong underwriting result across the Motor portfolio.
  • Identify opportunities to improve our processes—your insights will help us boost the efficiency and effectiveness of our delegated operations.

This is a market facing role, so strong communication skills, relationship building capability, and a genuine passion for doing the right thing for our customers are essential.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in Delegated Authority or Portfolio Management.
  • Proven underwriting experience in Motor insurance.
  • Knowledge of Motor Trade insurance (desirable).
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in decision making.
  • A willingness to challenge processes and suggest improvements.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with a customer first mindset.
