Part‑time Medical Consultant – 12‑month fixed‑term contract. 7‑15 hours per week across 2 days, including a weekend‑focused schedule, based in the Uxbridge office one day per week. Flexible working patterns are open to discussion.
Responsibilities
- Manage all requests for medical assistance from customers, medical providers and international organisations.
- Provide oversight, education, supervision and support to all members of the WTP medical team.
- Engage in quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with the organisational clinical governance framework.
- Act as the escalation point regarding appropriateness and necessity of medical care and/or transport, identifying customers at risk and escalating care as necessary.
- Serve as the medical expert with insurers and clients.
- Liaise directly with customers’ treating medical doctors, air ambulance providers and local medical doctors to provide medical advice as requested by senior management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Registered with the GMC Medical Register.
- Extensive post‑graduate experience, ideally in Critical Care medicine (Emergency Medicine, Anesthetics or Intensive Care).
- Thorough understanding of current clinical skills and knowledge required for medical assistance, ideally in an international setting.
- Knowledge of safety and quality assurance initiatives and standards in critical care and retrieval medicine, including audit and data analysis of key outcome measures.
- Excellent clinical proficiency in dealing with undifferentiated emergency presentations.
- Strong networking skills, able to collaborate within a culturally diverse, matrix organisation and build strong partnerships with medical, security professionals and operations experts.
Working Pattern Options
- Alternate weekends (e.g., one weekend on / one weekend off or two weekends on / two weekends off within a 4‑week cycle)
- Saturdays only
- Sundays only
- Working every weekend
