What’s the job?
Reporting to our Senior Legal Counsel, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of high-quality, timely, and cost-effective legal advice to our Irish business. This position will include:
- Drafting and negotiation (from NDAs through to complex commercial agreements)
- Providing pragmatic commercial legal advice to facilitate the achievement of business objectives within the confines of the law
- Coordinating the delivery of legal services to the businesses in the UK and Europe using external resources
- Providing ‘solutions-orientated’ commercial advice to the business
- Drafting and negotiating all client and supplier contracts for the business units in the UK and Europe
- Managing litigation matters for business units in the UK and Europe
- Coordinating the legal and governance integration of the new Irish business into the wider group
- Advising the business units on UK, EEA and non-EEA state regulations governing the sale and distribution of general insurance products
What are we looking for?
- You’ll have both private practice and in-house legal experience
- You’ll have a background in financial services, and understand the regulatory requirements of the industry
- You’ll have relevant tertiary qualifications in Law with a current practising certificate and up-to-date knowledge of EU insurance law
- You’ll have strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
- You’ll have a current practising certificate in the UK or Ireland
- You’ll have prior experience working in Ireland and a comprehensive understanding of Irish legislation
