The opportunity:
Do you have Claims experience? Are you looking for that next step in your career? If so, we would love to hear from you! Joining our Specialty Lines Claim team, you’ll have the opportunity to gain exposure to various lines of business. You’ll handle, and support the handling of, claims across multiple lines of business, including Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers, Financial Institutions, Cyber and others.
You’ll provide a quality-focused claims service across these lines of business and will be responsible for ensuring the effective and prompt settlement of claims notified to the Specialist Risk group, part of the Specialty Lines Claims Team.

What will you be doing?

  1. Support the management and set up of cases from first notification
  2. Ensure effective and prompt settlement of claims across various lines of business (Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers, Financial Institutions, Cyber and others)
  3. Investigate and negotiate claims within defined authority limits
  4. Liaise with TPAs, where relevant, and ensure timely and effective management and processing of bordereaux across various lines of business
  5. Setting of accurate case reserves
  6. Contribute to high level technical and operational output from Team
  7. Contribute to a positive and supportive Team culture
  8. Management of external counsel and experts both locally and internationally
  9. Promptly handle and resolve all claims enquiries from customers, brokers and third parties

Who are we looking for?

  1. Numeracy and literacy skills qualified to A level or equivalent
  2. Proactive and innovative approach to claim solutions from working within technical claims environment
  3. Relevant business/industry qualification
  4. Some knowledge of products and services offered by the Specialty part of our business
  5. Astute and commercially aware with an awareness of the market, business and risks
  6. Understanding of legislation and legal liability
  7. Understanding of London Market Insurance environment
  8. Interpretation of policy covers
  9. Computer-literate with working knowledge of Outlook and MS office
  10. Numerate and analytical thinker with excellent negotiation skills
  11. A team player with the ability to deliver excellent customer service
