This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis.

Location: London – Hybrid working arrangements.

The opportunity:

  • As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of audit engagements in the UK, collaborating with audit team members across Group Audit.
  • The role will form a key part of the UK Group Audit team and will play an important role in delivering audits across the UK Property and Casualty (P&C) UK business areas including Retail, Commercial and Specialties business.
  • Working in collaboration with the Head of Audit, UK P&C, you will support the development of the risk assessment and audit plan, collectively working to ensure the right coverage of key risks.
  • You will shape the scope and audit activities across your portfolio, determining the appropriate risks, analysis, assessments and techniques including the use of Data and GenAI together with the audit team.
  • You will positively influence the business risk and control environment, through our work, reporting to and attending key committees and forums and developing strong working relationships with UK P&C Senior Management.
  • The role will also provide operational support across the UK team, in areas such as resourcing, committee reporting and other team initiatives.
  • As a senior member of the team, you will play a role in implementing GA’s strategic priorities, supporting co-creating a leading audit function including the use of Data Analytics and GenAI.
  • You will play a crucial role in building and shaping the culture within the function and fostering an environment of collaboration, high performance and learning.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Implementing and Embedding Strategy: Role model and embed the Group Audit vision and strategy within your audit portfolio, working closely with the UK and regional leadership.
  • Robust Risk-based Audit Plan & Coverage: Support developing a robust risk assessment and audit plan based on deep business understanding with appropriate coverage including emerging and systemic risks.
  • High Quality Audits: Actively manage and oversee the delivery of your portfolio of audits, ensuring they are completed to excellent quality, on time and budget.
  • Draw in GA’s Centres of Excellence to leverage their expertise and enhance audit practices and outcomes.
  • Encourage the use of Data analytics, IT and GenAI within the team throughout the audit process.
  • Insightful Reporting: Prepare and deliver clear and impactful audit reports with key findings and actions to senior management.
  • Support the development of pan-UK Board and Audit Committee reporting including key themes, trends and root causes for significant weaknesses and breakdowns.
  • Build Strong Connections: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders, including the UK Senior Management.
  • Hold open and constructive discussions to positively influence improvements in the business risk and control environment.
  • Foster a Learning Culture: Champion a culture of experimentation and continuous learning throughout audits.
  • Encourage curiosity and role model a growth mindset within the team.
  • Actively coach and upskill members of the team, creating an open environment for discussions.
  • Embrace New World Skills: Actively enhance your and encourage the team to enhance new world skills: Data, IT and GenAI.
  • Encourage use of Data, IT and GenAI across audits.
  • Collaborate AsOne: work collaboratively at all levels to achieve the best possible outcomes working as one function across pulling in relevant team members and COEs, as appropriate.
  • Uphold Ethics and Integrity: Promote and model the highest standards of ethics and integrity. Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and internal policies.

What we’re looking for:

  • Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field and/or Internal Audit or Compliance professional qualification.
  • Significant experience within Internal Audit, Risk Management or Compliance in financial services, including substantial experience within the P&C insurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of Internal Audit Standards and methodology and internal control frameworks.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills, with proven record of working collaboratively with and influencing executive/senior stakeholders.
  • Strong experience/understanding of the power and application of new world skills (Data, IT and AI).
  • Excellent project management skills, ability to organize resourcing, prioritize tasks, guide, and coach team members to deliver on time to high quality standards.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and to take decisions autonomously, subject to verification.
  • Passion and enthusiasm to continue to grow yourself and others around you.
  • Fluent verbal and written English language skills.
