We are in search of an accomplished London market Senior Casualty Underwriter to expedite the growth momentum that our Casualty business has gained. You will spearhead our market engagement within the complex corporate and multinational account segments, collaborating with large broking houses, and contributing to the underwriting function of our corporate commercial business.

What will you be doing?

  • Maintain strong and further build relationships with customers, brokers and internal stakeholders.
  • General underwriting and business development, including product proposition oversight with focus on primary and excess of loss corporate accounts and large multinationals.
  • Work with pricing and reserving actuarial teams to ensure performance meets profitability and growth targets, and as required adjust terms to meet these expectations.
  • Conduct detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth opportunities.
  • Act as the subject matter expert in the team and assist in training and developing of others.
  • Lead and direct negotiation of Terms & Conditions to close deals.
  • Contribute to the team strategy, operate team activities and execute teams initiatives, in the given market area, in the regional markets more broadly and for the Casualty business overall.

  • Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local regulations, governance and guidelines.
  • Ability to effectively assess risk.
  • Ability to function in a team environment, to influence peers and to guide other members of the team.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills reflective of progression of positions of increasing responsibility.
