We are looking for a talented Senior Claims Adjuster to join our Specialty Claims Team with knowledge of handling mid‑market Management Liability claims, focusing on Directors & Officers (D&O) and Employment Practices Liability (EPL) matters.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective and prompt settlement of claims in the relevant line of business (D&O and EPL Management Liability/Financial Lines/Professional Indemnity/Cyber and Legal Indemnities).
- Investigate and negotiate claims within defined authority limits.
- Mentor claims adjusters, acting as a point of referral, providing technical guidance and oversight.
- Responsible for file quality reviews (LMRs).
- Setting of accurate case reserves.
- Contribute to high‑level technical output from the Team.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive Team culture.
- Management of external counsel and experts both locally and internationally.
- Promptly handle and resolve all claims enquiries from customers, brokers and third parties.
- Ability to lead a market through a large and/or complex claim.
- Manage situations of conflict and have the ability to influence and persuade others.
- Engage proactively with large numbers of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Qualifications:
- Numeracy and literacy skills qualified to A level or equivalent.
- Computer‑literate with working knowledge of Outlook and MS Office.
- Proactive and innovative approach to claim solutions from working within a technical claims environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of products and services offered by Specialty and wider business knowledge to support cross‑sell opportunities.
- Preferred knowledge of handling mid‑market Management Liability claims, focusing on D&O and EPL matters.
- Astute and commercially aware with an understanding of the market, business and risks.
- Understanding of legislation and legal liability.
- Excellent understanding of the London Market Insurance environment.
- Interpretation of policy covers.
- Numerate and analytical thinker with excellent negotiation skills.
- Ability to deliver Thought Leadership on key topics.
- A team player with the ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Proven experience working in the London Market in a similar role.
