The opportunity

We’re looking for a Governance Analyst to join our Commercial Insurance (CI) team, supporting the delivery of effective governance, delegated authority and risk management processes. This role sits at the heart of how governance operates across CI. You’ll play a key part in making sure our frameworks are applied consistently, our data and documentation are accurate, and our reporting is clear and meaningful. Working closely with the Governance Manager and Senior Governance Manager, you’ll help ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes while also bringing insight and structure to how we work.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of coordination, analysis and process improvement, and who wants to build strong relationships across underwriting, operations, compliance and risk.

Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

What will you be doing?

In this role, you’ll support a wide range of governance activities, balancing organisation, analysis and stakeholder coordination. A big part of your focus will be on delegated authority governance, where you’ll help keep documentation, trackers and records accurate and up to date. You’ll work closely with colleagues across underwriting, distribution and operations to make sure information is aligned, while also supporting compliance checks and helping to coordinate governance meetings and actions.

Alongside this, you’ll play an important role in supporting risk and assurance activity. This will involve gathering information for risk assessments, maintaining trackers for risks and actions, and helping to prepare documentation for audits. You’ll also support the coordination of responses to audit and compliance queries, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.

You’ll be heavily involved in governance processes and documentation more broadly, preparing meeting packs, maintaining action logs and ensuring frameworks and templates are well managed and version controlled. You’ll also support basic analysis, helping to spot trends, data gaps or areas for improvement.

Reporting is another key aspect of the role. You’ll help produce regular updates, including risk metrics and action tracking, and support the creation of dashboards and presentation materials for senior stakeholders. A strong focus on data accuracy and consistency will be essential here.

More widely, you’ll act as a central point of coordination across CI, building strong working relationships and helping to keep stakeholders informed, organised and on track with key timelines. There will also be opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement, whether that’s suggesting better ways of working, supporting governance communications and guidance, or helping to promote a strong governance culture across the business.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused and enjoys working in a structured environment, but who also brings curiosity and a drive to improve how things are done. You’ll be someone who takes pride in getting the detail right, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep on top of deadlines. Strong communication skills are important, as you’ll be working across a range of teams and need to build effective relationships.

You’ll ideally have experience in an administrative, coordination or governance-style role, where you’ve supported processes, managed data or helped keep things running smoothly. You should also be comfortable working with data, with the ability to spot trends or inconsistencies and present information clearly. Confidence with core systems and Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is important, along with a proactive mindset and a willingness to take ownership of your work.

Experience in insurance, financial services or a governance, risk or compliance environment would be beneficial, but not essential. Similarly, any exposure to delegated authority or audit processes would be a bonus rather than a requirement. Above all, we’re looking for someone who is collaborative, adaptable and keen to learn. You’ll be someone who works well as part of a team, is open to new ideas, and is comfortable working with a degree of autonomy while making sound, informed decisions.
