The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Technician to join our Finance Improvement Project Team on a 12-month fixed term contract. In this role, you’ll work closely with colleagues across ZIL and build strong relationships with stakeholders across the wider Zurich Group. You’ll play a key part in improving finance processes, helping to simplify, automate, and strengthen the way we work. What you’ll do:

  • Review existing manual finance processes to understand current ways of working and identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve efficiency.
  • Contribute to the review and assessment of reconciliation remediation actions.
  • Work collaboratively with finance and non-finance teams to deliver process improvements.
  • Assist Workstream Leads and Project Managers with testing, implementation, and training activities.
  • Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience working in a finance team.
  • A proactive, self-starting mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in process improvement and control design within finance (e.g. strengthening controls, standardising processes, supporting automation).
  • Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of finance processes and systems.
  • Experience in a change-focused environment would be beneficial.
  • Insurance industry knowledge would be an advantage.
