The opportunity
Are you a motivated and hands‑on data scientist with insurance experience, or an actuary/expert with strong data science skills, passionate about solving business problems? This role is an excellent opportunity to join Zurich Corporate Risk as a key member of our ZCR Actuarial Pricing team, where you will work on advanced analytics projects designed to deliver measurable value to our corporate customers.
This role will:
- Support development and implementation of priority advanced analytics use cases relevant to UK ZCR, including mortality rate modelling, conversion rate modelling, and price elasticity modelling.
- Contribute to capability uplift and knowledge transfer within the UK Pricing team.
- Support delivery milestones during a period of heightened transformation demand.
What will you be doing?
- Lead on the development of various predictive analytics projects in the team.
- Transform raw data into usable assets through data preparation, feature generation and in-depth exploratory analysis.
- Develop and refine machine learning models, ensuring they are fit for purpose and deliver measurable value.
- Produce insightful visualisations and documentation to support your findings.
- Act as a key bridge between technical teams and stakeholders, clearly presenting findings in a practical, business‑focused way.
What are we looking for?
- Significant experience working in data science or insurance pricing roles.
- Practical experience implementing machine learning models (including GLMs) using modern model development techniques.
- Strong programming skills, including Python and SQL.
- Experience working with cloud‑based analytics platforms, such as Databricks.
- Knowledge of insurance products is a plus.
- Familiarity with developer toolkits (including Git and DevOps) is desirable.
- Highly numerate and analytical with strong technical ability and financial awareness.
- A proactive, can‑do attitude, with a strong focus on delivering high‑quality outcomes and a positive user experience.
- A genuine interest in solving real business problems and partnering directly with business stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively.
- A collaborative team player, with the confidence to guide and influence team activity where needed.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
