About the role: We’re seeking a Development Underwriter to lead Zurich’s new business drive in the Property and Casualty (P&C) sector. In this strategic, growth-focused role, you will be at the forefront of identifying, securing, and underwriting new opportunities, helping Zurich strengthen its position in the mid-market. Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. Your impact:

  • Proactively source, develop, and secure new Property and Casualty business, expanding Zurich’s portfolio and market share.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with brokers, clients, and industry partners to unlock new opportunities and raise Zurich’s profile.
  • Lead the underwriting of complex and high-value P&C risks, delivering tailored solutions that meet the needs of new and prospective clients.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends and regulatory changes, using your insights to target untapped segments and shape winning business strategies.
  • You will play a key role in supporting the wider regional team by fostering growth through coaching and development, encouraging collaboration, and driving commercial success.

  • Proven experience in Property and Casualty underwriting, with a strong focus on business development and client acquisition.
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills, able to assess complex risks and identify new business opportunities.
