Our roots are in Azure engineering, and our culture is built on craftsmanship, transparency, and doing the right thing for the customer. We are now growing our UK practice and looking for a Data Architect who enjoys solving complex challenges, designing modern data platforms, and shaping how organisations use data in the age of AI.

As a Data Architect at Zure, you will design and deliver scalable, modern data solutions for our clients. This includes designing Azure-based data architectures, enabling data governance and quality, creating well-structured data models, and helping clients become truly ready for AI.

You will work hands-on when needed, guide teams and stakeholders, and contribute to Zure’s knowledge-sharing culture across our international teams. Our hierarchy is flat, and you will have influence, ownership, and room to shape both your role and our growing UK data practice.

We are Zure, an organisation that thrives on challenge. In the UK, we are just over a year old, but the Group we are part of has been around for over ten years and we are supported by experts across Europe. As we enter our second year, we are looking to the future, expanding our team with Azure experts who enjoy solving difficult problems for customers as part of a highly skilled team.

We prefer the whiteboard to the clipboard. We want to help our customers grow and learn so that they can take ownership of their cloud journey. Our goal is to help them understand their challenges and plan their own digital journey as our team supports them through skills and knowledge transfer, helping to craft the vision, and providing the ability to execute.

There are no outside investors at Zure. We are not pushing for rapid growth to enable a successful exit for the founders. We are building a business that anyone who works here can own a part of. Our founders and leadership include internationally recognised technical experts who remain involved in delivery to customers.

Our relationship with our customers is important to us. We aim to build relationships on trust and successful delivery. The problems our customers bring to us can often mean that we need to learn new skills and technologies. We are honest about our expertise and experience and support our customers as we operate together with cutting-edge technologies to deliver their objectives.

We need people who are not afraid to take risks, people who don’t balk at unexpected challenges because we often encounter problems we have not seen before. That means we sometimes make mistakes, but we make them together and own them without blame. We learn from mistakes because we want to be better next time and to bring that resulting wisdom to other customers.

Community is also important to us. Not just the community of our colleagues, but the broader technical community that shares expertise and knowledge through blogs, user groups, and conferences. We encourage engagement with the community through meetups and conferences and make sure we have time and budget to support community activities.

Our office is in York, and we try to meet in person every week or so. We may need to visit our customers at their offices. For the most part though, our work is remote (but there’s always a chat channel or call going on). Provided we deliver on our promises, and our customers are happy we can be flexible over where and how we work.

We are looking for somebody with broad experience in data and interacting with customers at a senior level. We need you to take on architecture challenges for our customers, work with the broader Zure data team, and help us grow our data practice in the UK.
