What You’ll Do
As a Consultant in ZS’s Strategy Insights & Planning AI Practice Area, you will work at the intersection of AI and strategy – leading engagements that help pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare organizations unlock measurable value from Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI. You will own client workstreams end to end, acting as the primary point of contact and translating ambiguous business problems into clear, executable AI strategies, transformation roadmaps and value cases. You will structure and pressure‑test market, technology and competitive research, then synthesize the findings into executive‑ready recommendations that senior stakeholders can act on. You will lead the design of enterprise AI operating models, governance and responsible‑AI programs, and guide clients through implementation, adoption and value realization. Partnering closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers and technology teams, you will ensure that technical solutions stay aligned to commercial objectives and scale effectively. You will manage scope, timelines, risks and quality across multiple engagements simultaneously, while coaching and developing Associates and Associate Consultants on your teams. You will also contribute to business development and thought leadership, helping to grow ZS’s AI practice and shape the future of AI in healthcare.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of relevant experience in consulting, strategy, analytics, digital transformation or AI‑related roles, including a track record of leading workstreams and owning client relationships (or related experience).
- A Master’s or PhD in a quantitative, scientific or data‑oriented discipline (e.g. Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Life Sciences) is preferred; a strong data‑science or AI orientation is more important than a specific degree.
- Demonstrated ability to work at the intersection of AI, business strategy and healthcare – translating AI and Generative AI capability into commercial value across research, commercial and operational functions.
- Hands‑on familiarity with AI, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), automation and advanced analytics, and a genuine enthusiasm for adopting emerging technologies in your work.
- Exceptional unstructured problem‑solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable recommendations for senior audiences.
- Strong project‑management, communication and stakeholder‑influencing skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts credibly to non‑technical executives.
- Exposure to healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or medical technology is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English.
- Client‑first mentality.
- Intense work ethic.
- Collaborative spirit and problem‑solving approach.
How you’ll grow
