ZS’s Strategy & Transformation solution area works with clients using our core consulting skills and frameworks to make the right strategic choices and drive stronger execution of strategies for lasting impact and value creation. We support clients who have broad, strategic mandates and support them from strategy through to implementation and transformation. We offer value to the client by linking strategy and implementation in a seamless fashion, drawing on ZS’ broad but also deep expertise along this continuum.

Consultant – Strategy and Transformation

Consultants support project teams or lead on smaller to medium projects. As a Consultant you will possess excellent unstructured problem-solving skills as well as strong analytical, project management and communication skills. You will work with a variety of clients on a broad range of project workstreams. Example projects might include:

• Identifying key levers for growth for a business unit head in a global pharma company
• Partnering with a global commercial function to define departmental vision, operating model, and structure
• Defining a new go-to-market model for a Medical Device company, considering how digital channels can help to improve the customer experience
• Running a transformation management office for a global pharma company to implement a vision for patient-centric customer engagement

What you’ll do:

• Develop understanding of the broader biopharma and MedTech landscape, including technologies, platforms, and assets in development
• Identify at speed critical key client issues and develop, shape, and inform hypotheses in ambiguous and unstructured environments
• Lead discussions with clients on both client-specific matters and issues affecting the broader healthcare landscape
• Structure and develop client deliverables in PowerPoint, including telling the story with supporting analysis in a clear and effective manner
• Design and execute qualitative and/or quantitative analyses to test and support or refine hypotheses (for both reasonable quick estimates and precise in-depth models)
• Drive project task execution by ensuring progress, organizing project data and coordinating team meetings and guiding and teaching more junior team members
• Integrate multiple information sources (primary, secondary and analytical research) to inform complex problems
• Participate in presentation and communication of results to clients and internal teams
• Provide thought leadership and innovation within projects and practice areas and contribute to internal firm activities advancing ZS’s capabilities

What you’ll bring:

• 5-8 years of relevant professional experience in a strategy consulting role
• MBA, Masters or Bachelor\'s degree with a strong academic record in business, economics, marketing, psychology, physical or life sciences, engineering, applied math, statistics or related fields OR a PhD in marketing, economics, or related field with a business application
• Candidates with a combination of consulting and life sciences/healthcare backgrounds and experience are preferred
• Demonstrated experience in unstructured problem solving. You will be confident in identifying and testing solutions in ambiguous and ever evolving client landscapes
• High motivation, client service orientation, good work ethic, maturity and personal initiative
• Effective oral and written communication skills that enable personal impact with senior-level decision makers
• Impeccable attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset
• Analytic problem-solving skills, with a creative and innovative outlook
