We are supporting a global financial services group in appointing a Managing Director to lead its Gibraltar-based life insurance and pensions platform. This role will take full executive responsibility across international pensions, annuities, and life assurance solutions. The mandate is to provide strong operational leadership, enhance service delivery, and drive sustainable growth in alignment with the wider group strategy.
The Opportunity
- Lead a Gibraltar life insurance and pensions business with full P&L accountability
- Oversee the administration and servicing of international pensions, annuities, and life assurance solutions
- Drive performance, operational discipline, and service excellence across the business
- Work closely with the Board and Group leadership to shape and deliver strategic growth plans
- Identify and execute opportunities to increase shareholder value, including cross-selling into the existing client base
- Act as the primary interface with regulators, ensuring a robust and compliant operating environment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on leadership of a small, multi-disciplinary team
- Own delivery of financial performance, including revenue and profitability targets
- Ensure strong governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance
- Maintain and enhance operational controls, procedures, and reporting frameworks
- Engage directly with clients, advisers, and key stakeholders
- Represent the business externally and contribute at the Board level
Candidate Profile
- Proven senior leadership experience within life insurance, pensions, or assurance
- Experience operating within a regulated financial services environment (ideally Gibraltar or similar jurisdictions)
- Strong understanding of life and pensions products, servicing models, and operational frameworks
- Track record of leading smaller, specialist teams in hands-on environments
- Commercial mindset, with the ability to drive growth and identify new opportunities
- Credible with regulators and comfortable operating at the Board level
Logistics
- Immediate availability (or nearly) is essential
- Candidates can be UK-based, with a willingness to spend c. two weeks per month in Gibraltar
