An established UK wealth management and financial advice business is transforming how it delivers advice.
We are seeking a hands-on Senior FP&A Manager with deep and recent experience within UK wealth management and regulated financial advice businesses.
This is a specialist sector requirement.
Candidates must understand the commercial and operational drivers of a UK financial advice business, including adviser productivity, client segmentation, assets under advice, revenue generation, cost-to-serve and the economics of different advice models.
The challenge
Our client has a substantial adviser population, an established client base and a clear ambition to move from a broadly uniform advice model to one that is segmented, scalable and commercially sustainable.
You will build a detailed, bottom-up financial view of the existing business and model the economics of its future operating model.
This includes understanding the cost and revenue implications of client segmentation, adviser capacity, book migration, remuneration, technology investment and changes to the service proposition.
What you’ll do
- Build a robust, bottom-up financial model of the existing wealth advice business.
- Analyse adviser productivity, client-book composition, revenue, margins and fully loaded cost-to-serve.
- Identify the principal commercial and operational drivers of performance.
- Model client segmentation, adviser capacity, recruitment, attrition and book migration.
- Assess the financial impact of changes to remuneration, servicing models, technology and support structures.
- Develop transition scenarios showing the investment required, timing, financial trough and route to sustainable returns.
- Improve financial transparency and management information for senior decision-makers.
- Pressure-test assumptions and identify the commercial break points within the proposed strategy.
- Produce clear recommendations for the executive team and board.
- Build and own the analysis personally, working hands-on with imperfect or incomplete data.
What you’ll bring
- A substantial FP&A, commercial finance or business-planning background within UK wealth management and regulated financial advice.
- Recent experience working within this sector for a meaningful period.
- A deep understanding of how UK financial advice businesses generate revenue and manage costs.
- Strong knowledge of adviser productivity, client segmentation, assets under advice, recurring revenue, remuneration, acquisition economics and cost-to-serve.
- Advanced financial modelling and scenario-planning capability.
- The ability to build detailed models personally without relying on a supporting analyst team.
- Experience working with senior executives and presenting analysis at executive or board level.
- The confidence to challenge assumptions and explain complex financial issues clearly.
The detail
- Interim assignment for an initial six months.
- Day rate of up to
- UK-based and hybrid, with meaningful onsite presence expected.
- Candidates should be available immediately or at short notice.
- Executive-sponsored mandate with board-level visibility.
Essential requirement: You must have deep, recent and demonstrable FP&A experience within a UK wealth management or regulated financial advice business.
If you do not have this specific sector experience, please do not apply, as your application will not be progressed.
