ZRG are exclusively engaged on a 6-month fixed term contract for a fast-growing founder led international retail business. The role would suit someone who has worked as a technical Group Financial Controller before and who is used to a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business on the next stage of their growth.
Responsibilities:
The appointed candidate will be responsible for ensuring the sound financial control environment across the business, ensuring high quality and accurate accounting and the continued improvement of process and control environment as the business continues to grow and evolve. Our client is seeking a people orientated team leader who can continue to educate and coach the team on what good looks like from a finance perspective.
What you’ll need:
- Fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA / ACA or equivalent).
- Strong technical accounting skills.
- Significant experience working within the retail industry ideally within both large and small businesses.
- Start-up mentality, experience operating in a high growth international environment, with experience operating across multiple currencies.
- High levels of emotional intelligence.
- Strong, personable communicator, non-hierarchical, self-starter, able to develop effective relationships across all levels of the business.
- Proven experience managing, leading and developing a team.
- Commercial acumen – the ability to make commercial decisions that support employees and the business alike.
- Project management – the ability to effectively manage ad hoc projects and annual processes.
- Resilience – the ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced and busy retail environment coupled with the ability to re-organise and re-prioritise to react to ad-hoc projects and issues, working with colleagues across the business.
- Hands on, detail oriented but can cut through noise to problem solve, simplify issues, articulate them concisely and drive results.
- Excellent eye for detail, diligent knowledge of accounting regulations.
