About Us

Jackal Industries is a dynamic organisation which acts as a service company for all related businesses within the Group. We are currently seeking a highly skilled, experienced Bookkeeper who will also act as a trusted Personal Assistant (PA) to our Chairman.

Role Overview

This is a dual-focus role requiring a sharp financial mind and exceptional organisational skills. You will manage the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions for our owner-managed business, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. Simultaneously, you will provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to the Chairman, managing schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and financial reports for management review.
  • Oversee VAT returns, payroll processes, and year-end audit preparations.
  • Maintain strict financial controls tailored to an owner-managed business environment.

Executive PA Support (Approx. 30%)

  • Act as the primary point of contact and gatekeeper for the Chairman.
  • Manage the Chairman’s diary, schedule meetings, and coordinate international travel arrangements.
  • Handle confidential correspondence and documentation in both English and German.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects, business administrative tasks, and personal administration as required.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional Background: Experience working as an Accountant, preferably within owner-managed businesses. You must be AAT Qualified, Part-Qualified ACCA, or Qualified by Experience (QBE).
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of hands‑on experience managing full‑charge bookkeeping and accounting activities, specifically within an owner‑managed business environment.
  • Language Skills: Full professional proficiency in both English and German (written and spoken) preferred.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Proven track record of supporting senior executives or business owners in a PA/EA capacity.
  • Deep understanding of the nuances, agility, and discretion required in an owner‑managed business.
  • Strong proficiency in modern accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite.
  • High level of discretion, trustworthiness.
  • Excellent time‑management skills with the ability to prioritise multitasking between financial deadlines and PA duties.
